Another hammering today,no sign of any progress being made on the pitch
When will the board get rid of this poor excuse of a manager
He must go now and so must the majority of the squad!

Padiham must be laughing, losing their manager, getting promoted and hammering us!

WAKE UP THE BOARD AND GET RID

Closer than you think

Wilkes must stay forever!!!!

October 10 2009, 6:35 PM

7 defeats in the last 10 isn't a reason for him to go
More defeats than wins in 2009 isn't a reason for him to go
Padiham coming from the division below to be above us in the table isn't a reason for him to go
The fact we're no better placed than 2 years ago isn't a reason for him to go
Out of both of the big cup comps before the end of Sep isn't a reason for him to go
Comments about Crewe and Holcroft isn't a reason for him to go
Player turnover at stupid levels isn't a reason for him to go

Losing at Abbey Hey next week might just be enough of a reason for him to go
Why? We'll be on the edge of a relegation scrap
But relegation's no problem, at least we have a club
And the best singers in the league

Come on turd polishers, give sorry old Steve Wilkes some support

You must live in a different world!! Every reason you quoted is a reason for wilkes to go!!

Do you or anyone else believe we will progress with wilkes in charge??

Answers on a postcard but any sensible person can only give one answer - no

I expect you mean the game AWAY at Runcorn Town.
Is it really a derby though, as we are a Northwich team.
If you play in a town for 3 yrs you have to assume the name.
LOOK AT THE FA RULES,
Probably does not apply to us.
Can the officials from Cheshire FA clarify there own rules please !

Forget the money. The reason he hasn't got the money is because he produced SHITE when he did have it. It beggars belief that a man who couldn't do it with last years money can with half that sum this year!!! THe board need to have the bollocks to get shut NOW

The man takes good players and turns them into bad teams. The player turnover is at RIDICULOUS proportions already this year. We've got more names registered than the f**king Magna Carta.

Blind fools

October 11 2009, 3:06 PM

The problem we have is that key people are blind to what is going on.
Week after week we hear the same -
- "We were the better side for the first 20 mins" - well games last 90 minutes not 20.
-"They scored against the run of play" - well given the play we had the run of, we never do anything with it or score.

Every week, we turn it into a case of being unlucky, yet we arent loosing by a last minute scrappy goal or a dodgy pen, we are loosing by 3, 4, 5 goals, not exactly unlucky.

Praise is lauded for the effort put into scoring a last minute goal. Now this would have been deserving if it was an equaliser or a late winner, but when its a consulation goal when we are 4 down, its almost irelevant.

We can moan all we want about all thses ex players supposedly raising their game when they play against us, but perhaps we have to ask why they and countless other players dont perfome at Runcorn. The answer to this, must surely lie at the door of the manager. Can all these ex players be wrong, while the manager is supposedly right each week?

Re: Blind fools

October 11 2009, 7:10 PM

If the manager does lose his job, whats the use in giving the job to two blokes who have only managed in the west cheshire league? That will look like a huge lack of ambition from the club in my eyes.

We need a manager who has done it in the NWCL 1 with a similar budget, who knows the league inside out, whats required to progress in it and most importantly has good player contacts.

A proven manager is what we need, desperatley.

I wont put my name, as Im scared of you knowing wh

re manager

October 11 2009, 7:55 PM

Totally agree Biggy, the manager has to go now and be replaced with a manager who has proven himself at this level before. To mention a few names, Ged Kielty ex trafford manager, Alvin Mcdonald ex vauxhall manager, Tommy Lawson ex Prescot manager and anyone else who is proven. All the above named managers have got teams promoted. The biggest mistake the board made after sacking carragher was not getting a manager in who was proven in this league.

FAO THE BOARD - GET RID OF WILKES NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

FAO STEVE WILKES - WALK NOW BEFORE YOU ARE PUSHED, SHOW A BIT OF RESPECT FOR THE FANS AND ADMIT THE TEAM YOU HAVE ASSEMBLED IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Re: re manager

October 12 2009, 12:23 PM

A good list of potential managers listed there. Lets look at why they will jump at the chance of managing Runcorn Linnets.
All the infighting - this club is quickly becomming everything a successfull club ISN'T.
The huge playing budget - all them named managers have, of course, brought success to there previous clubs with a weekly playing budget of around 4 - £500.
They would relish the chance to have their every decission scrutonised publically by "experts" both on here and on the offocial forum, not to mention having to justify reasons for releasing players.
Add that to the fact that their wife and children can be verbally abused when attending games to support runcorn, by runcorn fans, then you can see just why ANY manager would be delighted to take the reigns.
Why stop with that list can we not temp Sven?

Re: re manager

October 12 2009, 1:09 PM

if what dave says is true then it shows just how vile and spiteful this club has become. its a cancer that works its way down from the top.
its 1 thing to have a go at wilkes for the results and performances. hes the gaffer so has to be big enough to take it. but to have a go at his wife AND his kids is way beyond what is acceptable.

but its not as if you could get the chairman to sort the culprits out. his behaviour at games is as bad as anybodys.
what about the community development officer? he should be sorting out anything that is going to have a negative effect on peoples attitudes towards the club. but hes worse than the chairman.
as for the rest of the board, talking to the corner flag would get you further.
the worse it gets the more people will walk away. the only ones left will be the cranks and crackpots.

only a matter of time before the league or the FA take an interest in the club and the behaviour at grounds. it wont be to soon.

Steve, Moey and Ned go to a lot of games in our league and the leagues above the players that WILL come with them most of them play in these leagues for teams that are above ourselves i know what your saying that we need a manager with experiance but these lads just need to be given a chance even Alex Fergason had to be given his chance and these lads will not use us as a stepping stone

gary turned up at the interviews when we gave the job to wilkes with the assistant manager of prescot who came highly recomended by many top non league managers, maybe that was a chance to get some sort of local players in....spoken to gary a few times about runcorn as he still comes to watch numerous games when he can, maybe he can help wilkes in some way with his nowledge of local players...he has even took our ex physio peter to helsby with him,how has that happened i would love to now

Re: Blind fools

It would be Garry and Peter Nolan who would get the job not Garry and Ned who are at Helsby at the minute. You will notice them at wincham park if Helsby dont have a game. Moey and Peter were joint managers at Town before Garry left and then Peter went to Prescot as assistant manager. They would bring in quality players but from Liverpool not Runcorn. Some of the players they brought in at Town were exceptional and one is now playing in The Championship at Plymouth with many more now playing at Conference North and Unibond clubs.

be very careful of Peter Nolan just ask Maghull why he HAD to leave and was very lucky not to be arrested the club nearly folded because of him. He also is another who has not stayed at 1 club for more than 1 season Ned would be the smarter choice to bring with Garry and they would still attract the same players from confronce and unibond plus the local good talent BE VERY WAIRY OF PETER NOLAN ask any comitte member from Runcorn Town they will tell you to stay well clear

Of course they would say they would play, all players when asked such a question with no facts or figures would say yes, keeping a door open in case a better deal than they are now on came up in the future. You could get hundreds of possible signings but players only sign for better deals! So how many of these player would actually come or are the club going to double, treble or quadruple the wage bill.

October 20 2009, 4:41 PM

the wage bill would not change from what it is now the players who WILL come with the 2 lads would play for Ned and Moey for nothing but i will not lie every one would have to sit down and discuss whats on offer for the whole teamwage bill wise for the next season because they would want to offer the players contracts so that if other teams came in for them Runcorn would recieve a transfer fee common sense really look at Paul Carew left for nothing when you could of got 10 grand for him yes 10 grand is not a lot of money but that would pay the wage bill for nearly the full season

In the know, if all these superstars are saying that they would leave good clubs and money to play for Ned and Moey, why arent they playing for him now?

Also in reguards to contracting players, its practically unheard of at our level, its just too expensive, you have to play players when injured and suspended and usually have to give lads a sweetener for signing a contract.

As for Paul Crewe, the reality is that if he was contracted he would not have been sold as clubs like Marine cant afford to pay transfer fees like the ten grand that you mentioned.

You have totally got yourself wrapped up in this bull**** and its time to give it a rest, we all know that people who score hat tricks for Skem or who play in the conference arent going to sign for Runcorn if Ned and Moey take over.

If you want a proven available manager who will guarantee you a winning team and bring in players
then look no further than PETER NOLAN, just take a look at his past record with Runcorn Town.
He moved to Prescot and had an immediate impact on their results.
He is football mad and will do you a good job.
He is available now, he only needs asking.
If you want to go forward GET NOLAN.

wilkes must go

November 1 2009, 4:32 PM

Hello i am Ned from Helsby fc and i was told yesterday about all the posts that have been posted on this site about me and Moey are going to be the next Runcorn Managers and that we would be bringing the likes of Messi and Torres to come and play for us and that we will win the league lets get some things straight

1. we have never been approached by anybody from Runcorn Linnetts over the Managers position me and Moey are very happy at helsby but i know we would both love to go higher hopefully with Helsby and if not and the Runcorn job did become avilable and we were offerd the position we would do our best to try and turn things around but if you look at the top clubs most of them work with a 5 year plan and Steve has only been in the job is it 2 seasons now so he still needs time and most of all your support there are a lot of very good non league managers out there and Steve Wilkes is one of them but also Moey is a very good manager and knows the non league scene very well

2. Steve Wilkes is doing a great job considering the budget he has to work with i know from experiance when you speak to a player the first thing they ask is how much are you paying and that is in the west cheshire league we at Helsby do not pay players 99% of players are only interested in the money and not the club so Steve is not going to get the top non league players to come and play for him because of the money side

3.The majority of post are very negative you all need to get one thing straight and that is the TEAM should be the nost important thing and not the board get things right on the pitch and the other things will follow

4.Peter Nolan is not a thief who ever has posted this comment along with the others is a liar Peter is a good lad and another good manager

5.Now will the people who are posting this rubbish about Me and Moey please stop your waisting peoples time and post your proper name so we know who you are. I would like to wish Steve and the club good luck for the remainder of the season

Thanks. Ned

Not lost in four, won three and drawn one. Great result last night against Congleton away from home against second in the league. Not a single mention on here which just gos to show you the so called fan base that use this site. People are more concerned by their own personal agenda and just a few fans under a multiple of names. I have never seen one positve post to say well done for a good result. Its not the be all and end all but a good result is a good result and should be treated as such.

The 3 wins over Abbey Hey , Colne and Cheadle were the least we could have expected but to draw at Congleton well that's a real improvement on what had gone on before. Some more hard games coming up but if we continue to play like that there is hope that Wilkes might be the man for the job.
Perhaps the defeat at Padiham and the criticism that followed was the kick up the backside the manager and team needed!!!
