Name ChangeDecember 29 2011 at 5:05 PM | dave |
| Can someone tell me why we have dropped the Linnets part of our name.
Are we ashamed of it, we have just lost a part of our short history.
Can we just change our name or did the trust vote secretly again.
I am confused by the actions taken ?

Can he do that though, what about us supporters.
Does he need permission from the league and the FA |

Incase anyone feels misinformed from reading this thread, the clubs name has not been changed, its still Runcorn Linnets FC.
And I will now tell you what the next poster in this thread would have said.
" So why do our match reports refer to us just as Runcorn? " |

If I was writing Linnets match reports I'd refer to them just as "Runcorn" because...
1. It's easier (I switch between Town and Runcorn in most reports it only matters twice a season a la Sheffield, Manchester, Ashton and Atherton!)
2. I was jokingly (of course)trying to wind up the other Runcorn side
It could just be no less sinister than the reporter does it automatically without thinking!
