I've tried posting this (unsuccessfully) about three times now. X_X; Anyway, this is Spectre's profile...changes will probably be made, this profile is tentative for two reasons. And yes, I know I suck at movelists.

I've also been trying to contact an RL friend for help on Ridley's profile. Spectre was finished a little while ago, I just put it all away for a bit >>;

To the admins: I'll code it myself if you like.

Anyway, C&C!

Name: Spectre Yoshida

Email: h8red@killer.ac.gs
ICQ# : 92769730

Height: 5'2/155 cm
Weight: 45 kg's/99 lbs
Age: Unknown, but her appearance seems to hint between 12-13 years of age. Trust me, she's not actually that young.
Blood Type: A
Country of Birth: China
Country of Residence: Um...Shin-AC?
Favorite Food: She's a ghost. She don't need to eat. But FYI, while living, it was mushrooms.
Favorite Sport: Netball
Favorite School Subject: English Language
Hobbies: Making sacrifices for the forgotten souls, tidying up the flat, playing cards, arguing with Seijou.
Most Important: Her beliefs/keeping Yurei down.
Hates: Irreverence, people who try to cheat (at cards, that is.). And she dislikes disorder.

Appearance: Her face is framed by dark brown hair - almost black - with auburn tinge and her eyes are just as dark, nearly melting into her pupils. A long black sleeveless 'cloak' that's hoodless as well and looks like it's made of silk. There are gold 'rings' in place of the hem. Her white shirt is also sleeveless (having the sleeves torn off) and has a funny cravat tied around her collar, but her pants are made of rough cloth and come up to 3/4 down her calves. She has bottle green gloves that are cut off at the second part of the fingers and chunky boots that are scuffed at the front. Also, her mystically colored belt is made of gossamer. She ALWAYS wears some form of gloves/arm-wear that conceals her palm and the first part of her digits.

-P2: The same shirt is worn, only this time it has short, puffy sleeves. The armband is kept, though. The pants looks suspiciously the same, but longer and baggier, rolled up at the end and covering the top of her boots. She wears leather gauntlets and a fairly long leather vest.

-P3: (Oriental-ish Alternate) Another costume she used to wear. She appears almost older in this costume. Hard to describe in text, see the image (which is soon to come) for the best effect. Uses her swords a lot more.

Style: None in particular. She usually just fights and learns from her fights. Whatever her style is, it incorporates heavy magic use and the use of cards.

Bio: Well, the obvious story is that she lived, died, and continued, er, 'living'. She doesn't speak much of her past, usually. However, the traditional theory is that she's still around because - like most other ghosts - she has 'unfinished business'. She feels the vague need to "complete" something, but isn't quite sure what it is. They chose Shin AC. However, in choosing Shin AC, they were led to choosing a fairly decent apartment, but eventually (in a twist of events) Seijou for a roommate, shortly after Spectre deciding to participate in the ACR.

Resources:
-Mortality Armband: The Armband is used to "humanise" her occasionally, giving her a major power cap, but this is just a drawback to its prime cause - keeping Yurei in check.

-The Unholy Trio: Her three companions - her brother and two familars (Kaoru, Keda and Doku).

-A deck of playing cards and a flower basket: Her two major weapons. The deck of cards has an uber nifty design on the back. Her favored three cards are the Ace of Spades, three of diamonds and joker.

-Gospel and Infidel: her two swords, with painstakingly thin blades - the blades, however, can dissolve into nasty energy, which have a different effect. Depending on how much energy the bearer holds at the time, they can be used to cut through spirit, rather than flesh. The swords can also be merged to form a much larger sword, Controversy. While Gospel and Infidel can both be wielded with one hand, Controversy is large enough for Spectre to need to wield with two hands.

-Heaven//Hell: A gourd that looks a little more like a vase occasionally, it's really just for decoration. It can suck things in as per the traditional magical Chinese gourds, but Spectre rarely uses it for that (she's got her own vacuum).

Character Notes:
Although fast and agile, Spectre's biggest drawback is that she's one of the most predictable opponents you can hope to face. She's not the ideal fighter, but her magical properties help make up for what she lacks physically. She speaks English and several "Spirit" languages fluently, but dabbles in several others (just call her "Jack-of-All-Trades" language-wise, ^~). She's fairly hot-tempered with a few strong morals, but normally tries not to interact with others, shying away from the crowd. This is probably because she's lived most of her existence (no pun intended) as a bit of a traveller, and just didn't have the time to make long-standing friends. When she sets her mind on something, it's almost impossible to change it. Unlike Seijou, Spectre is high-strung, has a short fuse, and tends to worry a lot, assuming other peoples' burdens for them. In other words, Spectre is the jailbait polar-opposite of Seijou. Has slight atichyphobia (fear of failure), but is hardly arrogant.
Yurei is part of the reason Spectre's known as the KLE. Yurei was a Judge of Souls (the Damned Judge), who also inflicted punishment upon those deserving of it. For this, she was known as the Empress of Blood and Damnation. Yurei rarely talks, and when she does, her voice is like a chorus of many speaking at once.
In Shin AC, she lives with Seijou in a not-too-small apartment, spookily similar to the flat she lived in when she was younger.

Themes:
-"Teardrop", Massive Attack

-"Autumn Breeze", Hattan Amika

-"Druids in the Glen", Gregorian Masters of Chant

-"Farewell", Vangelis

-(battle) "Children", Robert Miles

-(battle) "Boadicea", Enya

-(battle, home-stage) "Hymn", Vangelis

-(VS Seijou) "Shades of the Otherworld", Gregorian Masters of Chant

-(VS Yurei) "Fear of the Dark", Iron Maiden

-(VS Jeia) "Orinoco Flow", Enya

Stage:
-Church of Angels: A mostly decimated church. Traditional white candles stand ominously on a plain, metal rack, their flames burning in an unfelt breeze. One lone altar stands in the area, and dirty glass-stained windows stare down forebodingly on the competitors. Bloodstained statues of various religious figures (of the Christian kind, mostly) watch wordlessly from their posts in the church.

-(Secret:)"Dreams of Forever": Both opponents are perched on clouds, that travel across the cosmos during the night (which it permanently is). Two significant places are, firstly, a certain place called "Heart Palace". It's plain and unadorned, and the only person there is a silent stone statue of a navy robed queen sitting regally on a throne. The other special place is just above Shin AC where the city is lit in the pitch of the night. Stars occasionally constellate themselves into groups forming either Japanese hiragana or Chinese words.

Openings:
-(First Round) Spectre flies in on a light gold-colored cloud whilst shuffling her cards (or arranging flowers, depending on the costume), then leaps off and smiles at the opponent.

-A small explosion of golden cloud occurs in Spectre's opening position. As the cloud fades away, the silhouettes of Spectre and the Unholy Trio appear, slowly growing stronger. The Unholy 3 run off as the cloud clears more, leaving Spectre to assume her stance.

-A human Kaworu is kneeling before a jade tablet, and praying quietly. Spectre appears, forming out of a cloud that blooms out from the tablet.

-(VS Seijou) Spectre phases in. After Seijou performs her opener, Spectre quips "Well, that makes two of us!"

-(VS Seijiro) Seijou stands there, fingering the scar over her eye, as Spectre fades in. "[Seijiro]: So close to death... so close to Death, you and I, and now one of us will fall, and fall, and fall...." Spectre shakes her head quietly. "Death is not an end - to die is to be reborn."

-(VS "evil" characters) Spectre floats in warily, notices the opponent and winces, muttering something about her opponent being perfect for the summoning. She shakes her head vigorously, as if denying her thoughts, and draws her cards.

-(VS Yurei) Yurei floats down in her normal eerie manner. Spectre, who is reading a book in her corner, tosses it aside, obviously expecting a fairly standard fight. When she sees Yurei, however, pleased and expectant are not adjectives you would use to describe her. "[Spectre:] Wh-what!? What are YOU doing here!? [Yurei:] Oh. You. The other one. [Spectre:] Damn it! Damn it, damn it, damn it! You realise you've ruined ALL my chances now, you damn thing?!" [Yurei:] It is no significance to us. [Spectre:] Us...this is worse than I thought...damn it, now they'll never let me leave... (looks furious, and takes a deep breath) Damn it! If I...*when* I defeat you after this, promise...no, it wouldn't work, you've...oh damn! Damn it...I'll just hafta fight you...maybe I'll regain their trust, if I beat you... [Yurei:] We do not care about you. Now hurry this along. [Spectre:] (furious) Shut UP ALREADY! YOU'VE ALREADY SPOILT MY AFTERLIFE, NOW JUST SHUT UP AND DIE!"

-(VS HIDE) Yun performs his standard opener, but Spectre appears onstage, suddenly puzzled when she notices Yun. She then floats off, and is replaced by Ridley, who shrugs nonchalantly ("GMCA fight in Shin AC? Eh...") and assumes his stance. Hide then appears and beats the crap out of Yun with a steel chair, Wen appears and drags Ridley offstage. A brief argument between the latter two can be heard from offstage, which is interrupted by the rather painful sound of the heavy [_HYPeR_] mallet making sadistic contact with Ridley's body ("Argh! Stop messin' around and stay in that other damned GMCA world! This is not your fight!" "But she told me to come here!" "Don't you have any sense, you moron!? Can't you see the title of this document - it's an ACR fight!" "Hey! Stop breaking the fourth wall!" "I'm an author, gawddamit, I have a right!" "No you - OW!"). Spectre then floats back onstage, grinning sheepishly and scratching the back of her head, before assuming her stance. The fight then proceeds as normal.

-(VS Relian) Relian performs one of his standard openers. Spectre turns to the side and shrugs. "[Spectre:] Good, evil, neutrality...it's getting overrated."

Taunts:
-(standard) Spectre spreads out a hand of cards in a fan-like fashion.

-(P2) Spectre pulls a flower out of her basket, sniffs it, and grins happily.

-(VS Seijiro) "Falling is just a state of mind!"

Poses:
-Spectre bows once, then vanishes in a cloud of gold.

-Spectre shuffles a hand of cards boredly, and produces the Ace of Spades.

-(Desperation) Spectre sits on the floor, exhausted, and takes a swig from her gourd. Kaworu comes running onstage, holding a crying baby in his arms, who Spectre takes from him.

-(draw) Spectre looks up at the timer, then at the player. She shrugs sheepishly, sweatdropping. "Mou...better than nothing, I guess."

-(time out loss) Spectre death-glares up at the timer, then her opponent, then the player. She produces a golden pocket watch from her cloak, shakes it a few times, then throws it at the opponent, before angrily floating off.

-(perfect) Spectre jumps up happily, then pumps her fist into the air victoriously (think Sakura Kasugano's pose).

-(critical) Spectre grins weakly, then does the V-sign, before fainting. Kaworu runs onstage and carries her off.

-(VS Yurei) Spectre shakes her head darkly, and vanishes.

-(VS Seijou) Spectre bows once, then fades out.

-(VS Seijiro) Spectre turns and scratches her head confusedly.

-(VS HIDE) Spectre pumps her fist into the air happily. Ridley, who's bound up with bandages to the point of resembling a mummy, walks onstage and glares at Spectre. Spectre laughs nervously, and floats away.

-(VS Abuse Puppy) Spectre sweatdrops and sidesteps out of the arena cautiously. (20% AP suddenly wakes up and begins ranting, causing Spectre to hastily teleport out of the area)

Quotes:
-(in Church, P2 costume) "Shame on you! How could you pick on little girls - whilst in a church, too!"

-"Well, that's one battle down. Don't take it too seriously - I, um, guess you did well. I, er, wasn't paying much attention...sorry."

-"Yes! Thanks for that - oh, hey, don't worry, you'll recover. Soon. Someday. Eventually...oh what the hell, go jump off a cliff."

-"As black as the Ace of Spades."

-"Pretty good for such a young ghost, huh?"

-"I'll finish it! ...Whatever it is."

-(Critical) "See, you *can't* kill me - I'm ALREADY dead!" [giggles]

-(Perfect) (muttered:) "Over my living carcass..."

-(VS Seijou) "That was well done, Seijou-san."

-(VS Yurei) "I hope that perhaps now I can rest."

-(VS violent characters) "You don't seem to understand - to die is to be reborn."

Glitches:
-For Spectre's [Master Hand] move, there are several glitches. The first is, if the Queen of Hearts is the selection, there is a 8% chance Spectre transforms into a young woman, instead of staying as a girl, and the dress is, er, more imperial, less girl-ish, and slightly less modest. Hail fanservice.
-Also for the [Master Hand] move: there is a 5% chance that an extra card (unidentifiable, as it is completely painted red - and glowing!) is available. Should this card be selected, the fight ends in a draw, and restarts. However, instead of Spectre, Yurei is the fighter, and both fighters start at 60% health, with zero super bar.
-On using the "Parasite" move, Spectre refuses to get off the opponent's back, demanding a piggy back - or that the opponent do the Chicken Dance - instead. More likely to occur in her 2P costume.
-Countering Seijou's Special Taunt: Spectre begins nagging Seijou about how she feels the unusual monsters growing in the sink (as result of Seijou's cooking) were more like her roommate while Sei-san was out pinching stuff, how these monsters were even neater, etc. If this is the case, the match ends in a time out. Or she acts defensive - crying and complaining how everyone treats her like a little kid. Either way, the match ends in a TO.

-------
Fighting Style: Agile, fast, over-cautious are the three best words that come to mind - or 4, if you're Puritan. She revels in magic - summoning magic in particular, but has never been technically trained. Good at magic, not very good at physical combat (she's a ghost, after all!). Due to her ghostly heritage, she's slightly protected from physical moves (eg, standard punches, average sword-swing) unless wearing her armband (see above), but is easily hurt by magical attacks. A definitely non-offense based fighter, Spectre's main errs tend to be that she is rather predictable, and she also tends to hold back a little too much, preferring to wait and strike at prime opportunities. Not for beginners.

MOVELIST

Throws:
[Parasite]
Spectre jumps onto the opponent's back, grabs his head with one arm, and grinds her fist into his head (noogie :3), somersaulting off him at the end of the move.

[The Other Way]
Spectre holds out a giant version of the Ace of Spades card, and uses it like a baseball bat to swat the opponent away. More for comic relief than anything else.

[Growth Star]
Actually a basic charge-up move, but her aura tends to knock opponents away just that little bit. Okay, I admit, I had no other place to put this.

Launchers:
[Spectral Brethren]
Spectre snaps her fingers, and a mysterious spirit rises from the ground, taking the opponent with it, before dropping the opponent.

[Morning Star]
Spectre dashes forward, and does a kind of cannon-spike (using hands rather than feet) upwards, her clasped hands in a fist, underneath the opponent's chin.

Pounces:
[Unkindly]
Spectre flips forward, landing her foot on the opponent's shoulder if he is standing, or back/neck, etc, if the opponent is on the floor. Particularly painful if she lands on the opponent's neck - although Spectre is light even in human form, she can focus her weight into one point.

[Evening Star]
Spectre leaps above the opponent and does a kind of cannon-spike (again using hands) downwards, her move occasionally sharpened by a flaming card.

Specials:
[Ace of Spades]
Spectre flings a hand of cards at the opponent, with a maximum of 13. Fairly good damage, no lag, but fairly easy to jump. In costume 2, she does the same thing, only using flowers.

[Nightfall]
Spectre does a aerial forward or backflip toward the opponent, drawing the Ace of Spades and the three of diamonds as she does. She then holds the cards out in front of her, and brings them down in a slashing motion, with black shadows following the cards as this happens. Pretty good damage, very difficult to avoid/block (which makes up for the rest of her non-attacking moves). However, she's a little more vulnerable after performing this move.

[The Mystic]
Spectre closes her eyes, and dashes forward to the opponent, slamming her palm on their forehead (if she misses, the chances of her tripping and becoming vulnerable are extremely high). If her palm collides with the opponent's head, both fighters glow for a second - and Spectre can, for the next eight seconds, predict the opponent's moves (thus, each move has a good 12% chance of missing). Less effective against Omake characters, more effective against specifically trained fighters.

[Mourning Glory]
Kaoru appears, dressed like a priest of generic Oriental religion and perched on a cloud floating high above everyone else (think those "bonus" and "drawback" clouds in Pocket Fighter). He throws mini paper version of a various item into an urn, praying. The object can vary from one of the following:
:Food: Gray motes of light surround Spectre for a second, and she regains anywhere between 3~10% health.
:Origami/Incense (technically, for the latter, he burns joss sticks instead of throwing them in): Blue motes of light surround her instead, and she gains half a super bar.
:Various weapons: Red motes of light surround the opponent, dealing anywhere between 8~12% damage. This move cannot be dodged.
Kaoru, however, can be interrupted from performing this move if the opponent strikes the cloud.

[Ambition Star]
There are two versions of this move. In the first, Spectre throws forward the Ace of Spades, in a similar fashion to her [AoS] move. However, this time, just before hitting the opponent, the Ace grows out of the card into a black cloud, covering the opponent's eyes, usually dealing about 6% damage, and clouding his vision for a few seconds, if nothing else. (In game terms: 10% chance of missing with each move) In the second, she holds up the Joker card. Her hands begin glowing, and she does a move which vaguely resembles Bison/Vega's Psycho Shot (Street Fighter series). Both moves are utterly random.

[Autumn Breeze]
Spectre calls forth a mystical wind, which tears forward at the opponent, taking away some super bar and a little of the opponent's health bar (however, that does not increase the super bar.).

[Inconsistency]
Spectre's image fades, then reappears in a bright spark. From here on, Spectre moves quickly, and her movements are often interrupted by teleportations (eg, she may be coming in to strike from one side, suddenly vanish, and then continue her move from another side). This effect lasts for the rest of the fight, but Spectre has little control over when, how, or where it happens (so yay if she suddenly changes position when about to deliver a powerful attack the opponent was going to block, but ouch if she flies straight into a projectile.).

Supers:
[Thirteenth Bomb]
(This move name was taken from the "Bomb" move in the card game 13. It's the best move, and an easy way of winning, basically requiring you to have four cards of the same number/level, and a "tail" on the end.) Spectre draws a hand of cards, then picks out five. She turns the cards to face the opponent - the cards are four twos and the Ace of Spades attached as a tail. She grins, and hurls the cards at the opponent. Upon making contact with him, they explode, sending shrapnel everywhere. However, Spectre, mysteriously enough, does not lose any of the cards from her magical set.

[Ethreal Substance]
Spectre holds up a jade tablet before her, and mutters a spell. Up to five Spectres form from her, making her hell to control, but fun to use (each clone Spectre can stand up to 8 hits before fading, but have equally spiff damage for hits). And no, spiff as though it would be, her Finisher, Ultimate and Desperation are inoperable during the process of this move. All Super moves have a 20% channce of failing, or a 10% chance of dispelling the clone that tried to perform it.

[Master Hand]
Spectre's player is given ten seconds to choose one of five cards (Ace of Spades, Queen of Hearts, King of Clubs, Judge of Diamonds, Joker, the default card being the first). The move happens as following:
-[Black Spirit] If the Ace was chosen, Spectre transforms into a Shadow-version of herself, stars emanating from within her silhouette. She charges forward, striking at the opponent with raw Spirit energy. It absorbs a little of the opponent's super bar on contact, but consumes her own quite quickly. This move is, specifically, a dark/shadow-element-based attack.
-[KLE: Heart Empress] If the Queen was chosen, Spectre transforms into a somewhat unusual looking being, in a flowing red dress, with a matching heart shaped mask (that reaches around her jowls) and fan. She giggles, holds her fan in front of her face, then turns around and blows a kiss at the opponent, which explodes into a ball of flame as it reaches him. This move deals Spectre health, and is a fire-element-based attack. Might not work as well against some characters.
-[Emperor White] Spectre does a quick shift of costume to an elegant looking white doublet, with matching tights...and a basic Medieval, semi-Romantic outfit. She then draws two rapiers from either side of her waist, and use them to fight, effectively boosting the damage of her punch/card-requiring moves. Yes, I know the Club suit is black, but YOU try being inspired writing moves for a not-too-light-hearted character by the club suit!
-[The Knave] (AN: Yes, I know the rhyme is "The Knave of Hearts", but frankly I don't care.) Spectre uses the Inconsistency move, but this time she does have more control over it. Very nifty.
-[Barely Jest] Spectre has a change of costume to the standard Jester-outfit. The outfit is black, and looks as if it had been cut out of the night sky, particularly for the gleaming stars within its fabric. She also gets a spiffy sceptre, with jewels cut in the shape of the four suits along it, and a crystal at the top. At any rate, Spectre can use the sceptre to turn herself invisible for up to five seconds at a time (this move can NOT be used more than once in a row, and must have a ten second interval between each fade), and using the sceptre in her punch moves adds around 10% extra damage to the move.
(If you think this move is overpowered, look at her specials - she's primarily defense-based.)

Ultimate:
[AfterWorlds]
Spectre closes her eyes, and curls up, tucking her knees under her chin, whilst floating in mid air. A pillar of light spreads around Spectre, and outside the light, stars begin sparkling. A nearly transparent and barely visible creature appears behind her, encircling her in an embrace. Spectre begins to fade, almost melting into the new being - who, with the transition - becomes more visible and solid. Still an unidentifiable spirit, the light-blue being begins to shimmer with many colors, and turns to smile at the opponent. The creature then floats upwards, arms outstretched, before opening her clasped hands - bearing a miniature doll version of the opponent. The being then laughs, and sets off a fire in its hand, setting the doll alight (and causing the opponent mucho pain). However, as the fire grows, the creature begins to fade, until - eventually - the fire burns itself out, and a very exhausted Spectre slumps to the floor.

Desperation:
[Achronychal]
Spectre kneels for a moment, shaking her head as if in apology. She then raises one arm, and yells loudly. A blue haired woman with shimmering ebony skin and glowing red eyes appears next to her, and helps her up. They clasp hands, and a Yin-Yang like orb of energy forms around them, before the white energy merges with the black. The stranger then vanishes, and the odd colored energy becomes a huge lance/sword like thing (think Lance of Longinus from NGE), which sparkles with "white" and "black" energy. She then holds it back, before launching it forward at the opponent. Evil lag for start up, but niftay damage like hell. 10% chance she gains health from the move somehow.

X-Finish:
[Anomalous Blood]
Spectre draws her signature card (the Ace of Spades, if it *hasn't* been hammered into your head already), and holds it up, smiling darkly. A brilliant white light shines across the arena. White spikes seem to grow out of the light, and pierce through Spectre who begins bleeding from the hands. She dashes forward, and leaps upward, a black sword forming from the Ace pattern on her card. She then uses the sword to stab the opponent from the air, before spinning around and slashing with the spirit-sword. Instant KO (predictably, it is, after all, a Finisher move), seemingly over-fair amount of flash.
