A GO-SLOW PROTEST IS TO TAKE PLACE ACROSS THE UK ON MONDAY 23rd APRIL 2001
Fuel Protesters/supporters are asked to join in on a go-slow that will be taking place today.
Protesters & supporters will be driving slow on the Motorway's between 40/50mph & 30-40mph on A roads across the UK.
As per telephone calls from members of the Public, Hauliers & Small Businesses there is a very large scale of support. The routes that affected are
M6 Southbound from about J16 to the M6/M1 Split, also M1 from about J23 Southbound to M25, M25 Clockwise from about J21 to J5,
From the M25 onto the A12 Northbound to the A14 **** M25 Anti-Clockwise J21 to about J9 & Return back from J9 M25 Clockwise to M1 heading NorthBound from about 2/3pm
Other motorists will be joining us from J14 M1 Southbound to about J4 M1, Then return back heading Northbound on the M1, M6.
It has NOT been confirmed (as yet) if there will be any action on the following roads, M42, M40, M10, M2, M3, M4, A1, A34. if there is any action on the adjoining roads I will update the web page or you may hear details on the news or radio throughout the day.
Whilst we understand that we may cause a bit of a problem to motorists with traffic. People are asked to show a sign of support by joining the protest.
The Go-Glow is to protest about the HIGH TAX ON FUEL. & some people are also protesting about the HIGH COST OF FUEL.
Please show your support & join the go-slow even if it is for a short while, you can also show your support by tooting your horn & putting your headlights on. Maybe not all area's will be covered at the same time.
The Go-Slows may start from as early as 7am on certain routes (tbc as soon as possible) and from 10/11am in other areas and may carry on through to midnight Monday.
We can understand and appreciate that some members of the public may not be happy with the above action but we kindly ask them to please be patient with us during this fuel protest.

PROTESTERS HAVE SAID FURTHER ACTION IS PLANNED. THE ACTION IS SUPPORTED BY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WHO ARE ASKING OTHERS TO DRIVE SLOW WITH THEIR LIGHTS ON AS A SIGN OF SUPPORT. VEHICLES WILL BE DRIVING SLOW ACROSS THE UK ON MAJOR ROUTES. PEOPLE ARE ASKED TO FILL WITH EXTRA PETROL, VISIT THE TOILETS & BUY DRINKING WATER BEFORE SETTING ON THEIR JOURNEY, PLEASE HELP SUPPORT THE PROTEST BUT PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP IT LAWFUL & PEACEFUL.
