From the Road Users Forum:
On the 13th August, date to be confirmed, Reading Borough Council is going to close Station Approach in Reading to private transport vehicles, thus stopping people dropping commuters at the station door in time to catch their commuter trains. This is totally unnecessary and uncalled for, is against the will of
the people of both sides of Reading and surrounding catchment area but they are permitting no dissent.
So I was thinking - if there are a few hundred car drivers, taxis, and truckers out there who wouldn't mind making a small detour to make the point that road
users have a right to be heard could they please mosey down Station Approach, reached via Caversham Road, Friar Street and Vastern Road, on that day?

Grid Ref. 471505,173757 (In fact this map is a bit out of date, the station itself moved to beside the street marked S.A. some time ago, when it was refurbished and reopened by the Queen.)
This would be hugely helpful as a reminder to local councils everywhere that
people matter.
