Im wondering, I am planning to buy a detector from Jack in the next week and I wonder if I should go a SD2000 and get it modded or a SD2100 and get it modded? from what I have read the SD2000's has a few that had problems (Black PCB) does the 2100 have any similar problems to look at before buying?
Cheers!

Hi Shane,I've owned both an SD2000 andSD2100 which I now use and both are very good machines.I`ve found lots of gold with the 2000,including a 7oz nugget from Dunolly in 1998.the only problem I found with the 2000, is that they are sometimes a bit sketchy on picking up fine gold in specimens,I proved it with a mate while at Dunolly picking up specimens on a patchthat we had both been working,he was using a2100 with a booster from finders fitted to it and at 4 inches into the hole i still couldnt hear it,the 2100 response was unreal as they dont have the filtering system in them. Ill probably cop abuse from other operators and critics may not agree but ,hey im just givin ya my experiences as they happened. My advice is just go for the 2100 and be done with it,a truly top machine!!!!!!

hey laurie, sly again, the next time you are having trouble listening to signals i suggest you take the booster off the machine plug it up your rear end,put the booster next to one ear then stick your head into the hole 4 inchs and you will probabaly be able to hear something then, ive seen it done,it works well. good luck next week.sly
