Hi Everyone, Happy to say that after owning the GP Extreme for almost a year, i have finally found my first gold nuggets with it.
Took a trip to Bingara for a few days with a friend and i was able to pick up 3 small nuggets for approx 4 grams. Its not much but its a start and i was more then happy to come home with something in my little jar this trip.

yeah good stuff jacko congradulations on the gold i still remember my first nugget about two and half years ago,had my 2200 about 3 weeks found a small nugget on a old surfaced patch brought it home to show the wife i thought it was about ten grams at least she took it to the jewellers the next day to get it weighed and it went 1.4 grams,i remember when i rubbed the dirt off it and seen it was gold i nearly fell over backwards,i sat on a log next to the hole and had about ten smokes while looking at this little nugget,i will never forget it,we do a bit down here on the south coast,we dont get much but we still really enjoy it,we run a small business at the moment and have a four year old boy also so we never have the time to travel to QLD or VIC or any of the other good fields at the moment, when where a bit older we will be able to,just got the missy a 2000 and had it hotted up we will be trying it out the next couple of weeks,i have posted a couple of times on this forum before but i was having a go at a good mate of mine,it sounds like im a friutcake but im semi normal,a couple of questions, how do you find the gp?and bingarra?is there much land up there for detecting like crown land or is most of it private

Hey there Sly, The Bingara area is nice but there is a lot of dirt mixed with the gold as the locals say, I think they are right in that too, I went there with a friend from Newcastle and between us we only found 3 small nuggets, all found with the GP and my friend had no luck this trip uing his 2200. That was a poor total for 4 days of swinging...but they were my first nuggets and all 3 in the same day, I was quite a happy camper that night :o) It must have been quite a site watching me running down the hill screaming "Ive Got Gold"
There are quite a few places to swing a detector up that way, mostly old workings, there are a couple of commens but most is on private property, All it takes is to ask the owner and they are quite happy to let you on their land.
I dont get out as much as i like, I to have a family with 3 kids, 6, 4 and 2... I also work full time.
I am planning a trip out west in May next year when its not to hot, Im trying to put a few people together to go. Should be fun. Know anyone that would be interested?
