There is lot of conflicing stories on which is the better detector, The most constant story I`ve heard is the GP is better on smaller surface stuff but the 2200d is lot better on bigger & deeper nuggets. Can anyone add to this, confirm or disagree ?

The GP does detect smaller targets better than a 2200d,also on large rubbish targets. To say the GP does't go as deep as 2200d on large nuggets is like saying you could detect a 1oz nugget at 30cm,but you wouldn't detect a 2oz nugget at 35cm.The same argument was said about the 2100 & 2200d over the sd2000,and the debate still goes on.

After having a faulty extreme,I now can say the gp does outpreform the 2200d,especially on small gold, which represent most of the gold nuggets. To get the most from the gp,you have to adjust the controls to suit the location and conditions, and go slow!

Hello Ian,

would you know how the Extreme compares to the 2100 and also what is this machine like in rubbishy ground?

Cheers
John
