I've gone through everything I have...service manuals...technical bulletins...and my entire stock of movements...and I can't find anything pertaining to the #272. I'm guessing it's a quartz movement but can't be certain. It seems that the last Electric/Electronic and Mechanical Quartz movements were numbered in the 260's. Somewhere in the back of my mind I think I remember seeing a #272 stamped into the back of a late 1970's or early 1980's quartz LED or LCD watch but again I'm not certain about that.
