We covered this in past posts...

Incabloc is one of many similar anti-shock systems that are designed to keep the balance staff pivots from cracking off if the watch movement experiences a sudden deceleration due to an impact such as dropping off a table onto the floor.

In consists of two jewels that support the upper staff pivot and allow the pivot to move slightly laterally and up and down. A tiny spring holds the jewels together and absorbs and impact energy so that it does not snap the pivot. Incabloc does not guarantee that breakage will not occur...it just increases the amount "shock" (or rate of deceleration) that is required. A watch with it will probably survive a three foot fall to a hard surface, but, maybe, a six foot fall would destroy the pivot. The system is used on the balance wheel and sometimes in high end Swiss watches can also be found on the escape wheel too.
