I remember for certain a metal bracelet, but not scissor style. used tiny u-clips that went in the sides and tensioned by a spring held in the links. Links were smooth faced.
Whether that was its first band is lost to memory. Also remember a standard black leather band, and a really tacky wide one in the stylin seventies. I'd like to forget the wide one.
