I can sympathize with Mr. Hamilton as it was never going to be easy finding a new ground. You only have to look at Chelmsford. Cambridge City should be thankful they already have a ground of their own.
It might be helpful to find out how far out of Chelmsford they were looking, as Mr Hamilton seems reluctant to tell us how far out of Cambridge we can go, that is if he's even bothered to find out. If it was the village of Boreham, Chelmsford were looking at, this seems to take us out as far as Waterbeach, Oakington, Fulbourn and Great Shelford.
My feeling is that Cambridge City hold all the cards and United only enter the equation when they pay, along with the rest of the community, to use our training pitches. New leisure facilities are required in any expanding community and the grants available are extremely generous because they wish to encourage community projects.
