Response to Ambition etc

As usual, someone who seems to have word blindness and hasn't taken in a single thing that is said.

"I don't think I suggested that the club should operate with no full time staff,I simply asked why there should be so many. I doubt that there is another club in our league with as many."

Do you know that for a fact? have you checked with all the clubs in our league? To be quite honest I doubt that many do have so many, but if you check around that's because very few clubs have so much going on as we do with our Football in the Community work and our Academy system.

"Have you seen a Conference club with much less than 500 people through the gate for home games?I don't think so."

Take a look at Leigh RMI. Anyway after a successful push into the Conference who is to say our gates won't be bigger.

"There is no way this club could survive in the conference,so it's only ambition must be to survive in something like it's present form.So there is no change there."

You really take the biscuit with this comment. All that I pointed out in my last post points to producing an off-field infrustructure to allow City to do exactly that, survive in the Conference if we ever got there. If the club are only interested in existing in their present form, why bother with all the Community work, Academy etc, why even talk about relocating? If what you say is true then the club would be doing nothing, but the very fact that you are moaning about the number of full-time staff proves that we are not standing still, the club is expanding. The off-field activities support the playing side, without an income generating infrustructure the team could not compete in the Dr Martens Premier, that is a fact!
