Agreed the ref was not very good today...but the fact is we could have won 6-2 if we had taken some very simple chances. Examples:not taking the ball round the keeper and putting the ball in the net;not taking advantage when the keeper cleared the ball only as far as his penalty area (twice); missing sitters from very close range(at least twice);skying over the bar when there was time to stop and put the ball in the net. If you don't take your chances when they are presented, then you have to accept it with grace if your opponents do. Additionally, the defending left a lot to be desired, again. There's also a saying in the game that if you score three times away from home you should win...
As to the defence, we seem to be very indecisive and vulnerable to long crosses into the box where the marking is non-existent and the goalkeeper is not dominant enough in such situations. Let's get things right on Tuesday. | |
