£600,000 was not a lot of money for the old ground at all, especially since the cost of our wonderful new ground had to come out of it, not to mention a massive land tax bill of £60,000 that nobody saw coming.
It all seemed a bit iffy at the time, particularly seeing as the sale was not done through an estate agent and an influential member of the board (mentioning no names) resigned soon after the sale.
The ground was sold on in the same year for over £2,000,000. We were done up like a kipper, that's what worry's me about this proposed move in with United, we've messed up before, if we do it this time after selling off our asset, there will be no second chances. |
