young blood

It seems ironic and somewhat strange for the club to sing the praises of our young players who start to make the grade to the senior team, only to replace them with older and seemingly more experienced players, but who show less effectiveness.

Many people have posted articles about Robin Sturgess. Not suprisingly, he of all of the up and coming players, shone last season, and never looked out of his depth. So this season should be his chance to play regular 1st team football, but alas hasn't been seen. What is the point of raising these young lads game, only to keep them down. Robin must be wondering what he has to do now to impress the manager.

Much is spoken of our youth, and it is they who ARE OUR FUTURE. I'm sorry to say the experienced players (excluding Kevin) are not performing, and new blood is needed now.

I agree with some posts about Matty Clements too. he works his socks off all game but hasn't been effective. Collins is not needed and Leon Gutzmore just hasn't had a good partnership up front.

We are too predicable. In the past we have had Harris and Cambridge to suprise a defence, but we lack inventiveness and pace. Yes, Wilde in the middle would be good, leaving Clements a chance to be the provider at the byline.

One defeat at KL shouldn't encourage us all to call for the managers head, as we don't when we win !!! BUT, certainly we need more mobility in midfield (how many more times do we have to shout "Robbie Nightingale" ??, and something exciting and YOUNG upfront.

Its time to blood these youngsters and drop some of the more experienced lads.
