Laugh? I havn't been so joyful since then end of City v Hednesford. John Beck era Cambridge United tactics may be good enough to get you close to the Premiership, but they won't do on the international stage.

Now that sanity and a sense of persepective have been restored, looking forward to the coming season.

Sympathy for Seaman

Q : What do you call a Scotsman in the second round of the World Cup?
A : Ref

Seaman wasnt the only one, it was a nightmare way to go out, but you have to give credit to the Brazil side. They are not in the same class as the 1970 or 1982 Brazilan sides but they were too good for us on the day. I don`t doubt for a second that Ronald McDonald meant the free-kick as a shot, I think it was genius. Seaman was covering the ball curled in around the back of the wall which is where 99 times out of 100 it would have gone. Had he stayed on his line and covered his top right hand corner and missed an onrushing Ronaldo heading the ball in he would have got criticized anyway. I don`t blame Seaman at all.

I`m glad Rob found it funny...now let me see ....Iran, Costa Rica, Peru, Ally McCloud (LOL) , Morocco, .....we`ve never had been able to laugh at Scotland losing a quarter-final before though

Roll on the new footy season!!

You could also call a Scot in the 2nd round of the World Cup

i) a journalist
ii) a tourist
iii) Secretary of the English FA

As for the Scottish triumphs, I could round off a few English ones...Maradonna, Van Basten, Southgate etc.)

I do find it strange the over optimistic hype that always accompanies England. We shed all of that baggage after Argentina 78. Consider the respective resources - Scotland (5m population), England (50m). England do comparatively poorly for a leading nation.

PS - I tried not to do the "Seaman Blubbed" post - but after re-reading the previous ones, I couldn't resist it. Sorry for upsetting any City fans.....but it's in the genes.
