It is a well known fact that United ARE going through a difficult finantial period, that certainly cannot be denied, however United are not alone in this situation fact is at least 30+ others are in trouble as well, most i`d thought in a much worse situation, however i wonder in how many towns where the league club is "on the verge" of going out of existance are part-time small non-league clubs hoping the worse will happen to the major club in the town so that their only hope of preggression after years (in City`s case over 35 years) of going nowhere is realised. Do Oxford City feel the same about Oxford United?. Are similar insults hurled at Bury, Notts.County ,ect. or is it just jealousy here in Cambridge?. I follow both teams in this town & i`ll be in your ground in a few weeks time, i`ll also be watching United at The Abbey for many years into the future, not in hope but in confident expectation!. Whatever happens to YOUR club hopefully is what you desire, but don`t wish United`s extinction as a key part of "The master plan" of your club`s future(if your directors have one!).Currently the new away end is nearing completion, the new season is nearly here we WILL SURVIVE because United directors & supporters wish it to be so! Good luck to Your club & i hope this this the one & only time i have to "invade" the City`s messageboard after years of only viewing! Good luck again & goodbye!.

CUFC = "Club Under Financial Cloud"

.....Come on here begging for sympathy and a lot more besides. Whenever in the last 35 years has a United supporter been interested in City?

Give it a rest.

When in the last 35 years has any United fan been interested in City???

Have a look around the next bumper crowd at Milton Road, and try to work out how many people there are United fans who like watching City - and hope they do well. Its a lot more than you think.

Bear in mind that the majority of United fans have no recollection of, nor interest in, the genuine rivalry that existed in the sixties.

I had never been partcularly bothered about Cambridge United. But there is no doubt that they have recently been attempting to apply pressure on City - all this "limited window of opportunity" nonsense about a possible deal which will be of no benefit at all to City but will save United's bacon (please - no further comments from United fans who disagree with this point as we've done this to death over the last few months). Plus, recent posts started by United fans have been quite bitter towards City. It hasn't been a particularly good lesson on how to win friends and influence people. It will be of no benefit to football for any club to go bust, though it is bound to happen somewhere before long. If United went to the wall, it wouldn't be City's fault. Or maybe we would get blamed for not selling our ground to help bail them out?

It's about time United concentrated on sorting out their own problems without telling City what they think is best for them.
