Sorry......

DAFC Fan

I would just like 2 apologise of last nights incident in which a Dover fan was seen to have thrown a coin at 1 of ure players presumably ure no.4? When he started on our fans i and others gave him some stick it was only when the ref picked up a coin i realised what had happened. I thought that ruined the evening as u were very good hosts. I thought the man in black ruined the game though blowing his whistle more times than Michael Jackson blows bubbles. Any way look forward 2 seeing u at crabble later in the season!

Good Luck

Thanks for the apology

you posted this while I wrote my piece above.

If anybody knows who it was report them to your or our club. This person should be banned, they could have blinded someone. This kind of behaviour is not acceptable in any football ground.

Further apology

I can only add to what was said earlier & apologise. I was another who goaded your No 4 until I realised something had been thrown at him. I just hope that by some of us speaking up on your forum that you realise that we are a friendly bunch really, & had a reputation in the conference for being just that.
For what it's worth, I did have a rant on our own forum about the incident, & I hope the numpty concerned hangs his empty head in shame. As for the game, you were one of the better sides we played this term. Shame the referee ended up being the centre of attention AGAIN!!!!
Good luck for the season.

Coin-throwing

This person should be identified and banned, one of you that travelled up from Dover must know his identity, do the right thing and turn him in.

The actions of one lunatic don`t tarnish all Dover fans, and the apologies on here are accepted as far as I`m concerned.

Its just a shame that an incident like this marred what what was a cracking game

Very shocked

I can honestly say that after watching Dover for 20 odd years i have never known a Dover fan to do anything like this. I was nowhere near the incident and i did'nt see anything happen but plenty of people were chatting about it.

Dover Gooner: Was it one of the singing lads by any chance? I could'nt see it being anyone else.

Response to Dover supporter

Dunno who threw it. We were stood just to the right of the left post as we looked at it 2nd half. I think the coin come from either the centre of the goal or towards the right. (Not sure just guessing by position of player involved etc) I have my suspicions which rock apes were involved, but unless anyone actually 'saw' it happen, we R stuffed. CCFC fans, sorry again, & sorry for using your forum to do our dirty wahing.

Wonderful attitude

"you reap what you sow" indeed.

So Tim Wooding swore at your fans because he just felt like it did he? he just came onto the field with the thought in his mind "I know, for no apparent reason i'll swear at the Dover fans" did he? no provocation from the Dover fans then? it's ok to swear and throw all manner of abuse at players but if they have the temerity to answer back, it's ok to respond by throwing a missile at them is it?

Seems to me this is a case of the same twisted logic that see's Man Utd supporters defend Roy Keane, no matter what he does.

You do your fans no favours.

Wrong end of the stick

September 5 2002, 5:44 PM

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
It is more likely that Mr. Wooding swore at the fans AFTER being struck by the missile. I am pretty sure though that whoever launched the the coin was aiming at the referee.(Partially justified it has to be said!!) Please Dover supporter, don't do our cred any more damage by trying to defend the undefendable in Cambridges own forum. If U want to debate the point further, lets do it on our own forum, & leave these guys in peace. After all, we aint Margit!!
