| what does that say about us. Tiverton may have had an offday but City absolutely outplayed them it could have been 6 by half time.
Fantastic performance by City i noticed we kept the ball down a lot more and that was the result. Lets hope we can continue our in this fashion before we get too excited.
Good to see Collins pulling his weight today, hope he can build on a good match. |

That first half performance was breathtaking, brilliant. If Collins and Clements preform like that on a consistent basis against the better teams, then we should be able to compete with the best.We must not forget Davies, the goalie, excellent saves, but a good all round performance. Lets hope we can beat Hastings on Tuesday, before an enforced break, because of the FA Cup exit.
The crowd was disappointing, but it shows that the hard core loyal following of about only 250 saw a great performance. The ifs and buts supporters who went for the cheap seats at Cambridge Utd amd saw a poor game, it is there loss, but I hope they will come and visit us again at Milton Rd. We should get a big gate against Hastings - 400 plus, after todays result?
From all accounts Histons Trophy game was poor, and you never know what the ' real crowd fiqure' is at Bridge Road!!

A good, well deserved win by playing football not hoofball. Just goes to prove what we have been saying all along that our players are far better than some of the dire stuff they have produced this season. If we play like that, people are far less likely to be critical if we lose. Losses are far easier to take if your team has entertained you.
Great to see Collins put in the kind of display that we hoped he would when he signed for us. He was excellent, great finish for our first and then involved in both the others. A great response from him to the deserved criticism aimed at him recently.
Only one defeat now in our last 8 games, and we've won half of them, another win Tuesday could see us in 11th if results go our way. Play like we did Saturday and i'm sure we can overcome Hastings. |

I hope that we can give you a better game than Tivvy did yesterday. Sounded like a great result against a decent side. We're not exactly on a roll at the moment but we beat Halesowen yesterday with a late winner and with ten men for an hour or so. Our small squad is really struggling with injuries and suspensions, but we seem to have quickly come to terms with the DMP. Pity to be playing you midweek, as I can't get there myself, but I guess we might have fifty or so that do. All the best. |

| Small squad | October 7 2002, 8:10 AM |
In recent seasons we at City have seen our hopes wrecked by injuries and suspensions, ending up fighting relegation battles. Hastings have done well so far despite some of the early season grumbles of your fans (re your message board), but with a small squad it is always a fine line between safety and struggle.
Quite honestly i hope you don't give us a better game than Tiverton (not that they had much choice considering the way City played), another comfortable three points would be most welcome. Nice to hear that you will bring a few, but I would be surprised if it's 50, even the best supported sides in this league don't usually bring that many for a midweek game. | |
