Better than Napster

I downloaded WinMax and tried it. It works better than Napster.
Get it free at http://www.winMX.com

The first thing I looked for was Daisy A Day by Jud Strunk. And I found it!

"A Daisy A Day"

(As recorded by Jud Strunk)
JUD STRUNK

He remembers the first time he met her
He remembers the first thing he said
He remembers the first time he held her
And the night that she came to his bed
He remembers her sweet way of sayin'
"Honey has something gone wrong?"
He remembers the fun and the teasin'
And the reason he wrote her this song.

I'll give you a daisy a day
Dear I'll give you a daisy a day
I'll love you until the rivers run still
And the four winds we know blow away.

They would walk down the street in the evenin'
And for years I would see them go by
And their love that was more than the clothes that they wore
Could be seen in the gleam of their eye
As a kid they would take me for candy
And I'd love to go taggin' along
We'd hold hands as we'd walk to the corner
And the old man would sing her his song.

I'll give you a daisy a day
Dear I'll give you a daisy a day
I'll love you until the rivers run still
And the four winds we know blow away.

Now he walks down the street in the evenin'
And he stops by the old candy store
And I somehow believe he's believin'
He's holdin' her hand like before
For he feels all her love walkin' with him
And he smiles at things she might say
Then the old man walks up to the hilltop
And gives her a daisy a day.

I'll give you a daisy a day
Dear I'll give you a daisy a day
I'll love you until the rivers run still
And the four winds we know blow away.

---------------

There's an old couple that must be in their 90s here in Hot Springs. They walk together almost every day, hand in hand. The amazing thing is that they think nothing of walking up and over the hill where the VA Domiciliary is - it's just a little hand-in-hand stroll for them. They remind me of that song. Especially since I saw him stop and pick a flower for her one day.

D#mn! Now my eyes are leaking again!

Hill? is it the one I asked about...? not too tall nice place to stand on top and let the wind blow through your mind and soul and heart?

Perhaps by the old museum where I picked the sage...
Same hill.

Me Again

I just checked.

Went up on the hill again to check. I don't think it would match your description.

So Battle Mountain seems to me to be a more likely candidate. The Indians used it for a lookout way back when.

Here's an 1889 picture with Battle Mountain in the background.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The "fair use" doctrine allows limited reproduction of copyrighted works for educational and research purposes. The relevant portion of the copyright statue provides that the "fair use" of a copyrighted work, including reproduction "for purposes such as criticism, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research" is not an infringement of copyright. The law lists the following factors as the ones to be evaluated in determining whether a particular use of a copyrighted work is a permitted "fair use," rather than an infringement of the copyright:
• the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
• the nature of the copyrighted work; • the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole, and
• the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.
Although all of these factors will be considered, the last factor is the most important in determining whether a particular use is "fair." Where a work is available for purchase or license from the copyright owner in the medium or format desired, copying of all or a significant portion of the work in lieu of purchasing or licensing a sufficient number of "authorized" copies would be presumptively unfair. Where only a small portion of a work is to be copied and the work would not be used if purchase or licensing of a sufficient number of authorized copies were required, the intended use is more likely to be found to be fair.
