SCARY!!

by

I found your website while doing a search on the internet to find out what is wrong with me. I had a tubal two and a half years ago and I have had problems ever since. I am now 28 and I feel like I am 40. I have had chronic fatigue, depression, hot flashes/sweating bouts, really bad PMS, decreased libido, outbursts of rage, wrinkles on my face, etc. ever since. My doctor, of course, did not warn me of any risks of the surgery and I DID SPECIFICALLY ASK!! I was told there were no side effects at all. I also have gone back to him with all my problems. My doctor's partner in practice (also OB/GYN) even told me that my problems were occurring because a after a woman has a tubal her body has to work harder to mensturate (sounds like an admission to me). I asked him why I was not told that initially. If I had been told, I would of had my husband "snipped" instead of me. We just thought it would be easier for me. The doctor brushed it off and said that most women don't experience any side effects from a tubal and what I have now is just PMS. In an attempt to make me feel normal, he even went so far as to say that even Cleopatra way back in her days had PMS. He tried to prescribe me Sarafem (a derivative of Prozac). I threw that prescription right in the garbage. A week ago I changed OB/GYNs to a woman doctor. When they measured my height I was an inch and a half shorter. I initially thought maybe the last time my height was measured they measured incorrectly, but after seeing your website today, I am going to have my hormone levels checked, because I think I could be loosing bone mass.

I cried when I read your story today. My relationship with my husband and children has definitely been affected by my health. All I could think about were the pharmaceutical companies in the 80's that gave blood to hemophiliacs knowing that it was infected with the AIDS virus.

I guess if I do have PTS the only thing I can do is Hormone Replacement Therapy, but that has severe risks as well.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
