If we were told the whole truth prior to our tubals.....

by Cheryl (no login)

things would be different. Women are told that this is a safe, effective form of birth control. We are NOT fully informed of the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth by the dr's that do our tubals. I totally stand by my decision to not have any more children. The tubal took care of that. BUT... I was not advised of the risks to my health and well-being prior to consenting to my tubal as most women are not. I did NOT consent to the complications I am suffering from now as a result of my tubal. Tubal ligations are a very unsafe form of permanent birth control. If it were only as simple as regretting the tubal cuz we want more children.
Insurance companies will more than likely NOT pay for a reversal, even if it is medically necessary to salvage a womans health. At least, mine won't. I am sure it is not the only one to be that way.
Susan S- I am not posting this to flame you, but instead to let you know that our beef is not cuz we want more children, but that our health has been compromised as a result of our tubals. And, that the dr's HAD to know that this could happen to us a result of our tubals, and didn't tell us about it.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
