Weight gain. (or loss) does happen with hormonal changes.

Symptom 25 (weight gain) often around the waist and thighs, resulting in 'the disappearing waistline'
The reason? I'm not a doctor but I have my theories.
When a hormonal change happens (naturally or is caused), the whole system changes. In the case of a sudden change, hormone shock is the result. In the case of a natural change, a slow, gradual and "more forgiving" change happens. In either case, the whole "female eco-system" changes and that would include the metabolizom, or how fat is stored and burnt.
Natural menopause does slow down our systems, but natural menopause is a long process, which can take 10 years, and the long process and small changes gives the body time to adjust to the change in levels, etc...
In the case of a sudden change (Such as can happen with tubal ligations), it causes a quick abprut change in hormone levels. The body does not have time to adjust. The change happens so quickly that the result is hormone shock. Levels and things get way out of wack. - "wackety wack" :)
In the case of castration (losing both ovaries) the system literally shuts down if HRT is not used. This is not studied or researched within the human female population. Who would consent to a study such as this?

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
