Hi Cheryl, thanks for the welcome. Yes, my message was my first posting and to answer your questions, I had my tubal in 1993, 32 y.o. and naive! I don't know what method the dr. used as my concern at the time was no more children. I was blessed with a boy and girl and I knew that was it. My husband wanted the sex, but didn't make the move to do a vasectomy, so I did the tubal. I don't have copies of my records (didn't know I could), nor have I read them. At my post-surgery appt., I recall viewing some pictures. I can't remember what it exactly was, perhaps he (the dr.) was showing me that my ovaries were "just fine." Naive.....Anyway, about two years ago I started noticing hard, painful periods---cramps heavy flow first day with clots ("little livers"). Initially, I thought nothing of it because before pregnancy, I used to get cramps terribly. Then, they went away. Emotionally? Well I don't think I've ever in my life been so aware of every emotion. Ugh! I don't even want to begin. I really strive to be a positive-thinking person. I've also developed one-two small, raised bumps, had them checked and the dr. says their "nothing." Well, couple months ago, the dr. just "popped" a larger one with fluid and sent me home saying it was "normal, these happen in some women." I was really upset and am looking for a female gyn. I obviously need to keep reading and see if I have pts. I know this wasn't brief. It reassuring that I know I'm not making these symptoms up. Karen.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
