Every woman is different.....

by

Wendy-
HI!!
Yes, things can change "just like that." In a heartbeat. Each woman is different, so our bodies react differently to the procedure. We all mostly have the same symptoms, just different degrees of severity. Some women experience "instant menopause" while some others slowly approach it post-tubal.
As for the chance of failure from having a tubal at a younger age, I have heard it before. Another thing I have heard is that women that have their tubals done prior to the age of 30 are at a higher risk for developing complications post-tubal. I had mine done at age 27, just a little over 24 hours after the birth of my son. The dr never mentioned their being a higher failure rate when done according to timing post-birth. Then again, he never told me I could get PTS, either. I guess it could be true. Makes perfect sense. You are not yet healed from the birth, so anything is possible.
We are all still learning new things every day. As Susan said, have your levels re-tested. Do you have copies of the bloodwork results? If not, GET THEM. It is very important to have ALL your records. You have a set of numbers to make a comparison to, if you can get them to do a second round of testing.
Good Luck to you!! Cheryl :o)

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
