CHANGES OF LIFE

by

I had a TL five years ago when my son was born. I am now 41. Though I haven't noticed much change in my monthly cycle -not heavier or lighter and pretty much stays on schedule, I have noticed changes in my emotional well being. I sometimes have bouts of what consider major PMS. I feel totally out of control and this past month, I was a real basket case. I felt confused and angry and sad. There has been a definite decline in libido since the TL and that makes me sad not only for myself but for my husband as well. We have always been very compatible and have had a wonderful 16 year marriage. I have a really good life -healthy children -a wonderful husband -all is well, but I felt totally depressed and unhappy. I do not understand at all what I'm going through. I have an appointment tomorrow to talk with my doctor. I have just completed my monthly cycle. Are there any specifics (such as blood work) I should request at this time or should I wait to the beginning of a new cycle. Although I'm not sure what I'm going to say when I get there. I know that I don't like feeling so out of control. I thought maybe I was getting ready for early menopause. To be honest, I really don't know what is going on, but I would like to get back to myself. I did go to the doctor earlier, birth control pills were suggested along with Zoloft. I don't like the idea of taking an antidepressant and now realize I should have requested blood work before accepting the pills. I only took them for about three months and stopped. I definitely need something but I don't know what that is. Please respond.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
