new to this site...also a victim

by

i am new to this site. i discovered it a little too late. i was pregnant with my fourth child. not an easy pregnancy. every visit it seemed like the doctors thought something else might be wrong with the baby.. heart problems, spinal bifida, downs syndrome, well i was under a lot of stress, out of all of this stress i knew i didnt want any more children. i thank god that i was blessed with a very healthy beautiful little girl.
with all this stress after the doctors advice i went ahead and had a tubal, something i always said i would never do. i was not in a very good frame of mind because i was extrenely anemic and i had a hard time getting through each day. being anemic for as long as i was makes you not think clearly.
i had the surgery less than 24 hours after her birth last june.when i woke up i felt like maybe i shouldnt havent done that.it was much more painful than the doctors said it would be. i was told nothing of long term affects. i was told it does not affect hormones.
i have been miserable since.. lower back pain pelvic pain that wakes me up everynite, very moody, heavy bleeding, irregular bleeding.clots,insomnia..the list goes on.
i first went to a urologist because i thoght maybe the lower back pain and lower abdominal pain might be another kidney stone. everything was fine bloodwork, thyroid was ok. this was done 2 weeks ago he told me that i really need to find out what was causing my pain, and referred me back to my gyn.from what i have read on this site i decided to get another gyn.
i made an appointment and talked to him,he said right away hormonal imbalance, lets do blood work i thought this is great he will do the tests that every other p.t.s. victim cant seem to get done, then he looked at my papers that i filled out and said oh you had a tubal i think you should just go on b.c. pills. we dont need to do the hormonal tests. i said why. he said they wont tell me anything your hormones go up and down all day long every day. i asked him to do them anyway he said if i couldnt control my mood swings he will giv me a priscription for prozak. i said what do i dio about the pain, bleeding,hairloss..etc. he said the pills will take care of that.he also told me you have to start running about a mile a day that will get your hormones back i told him i walk a quick steady pace 1-3miles a day pushing a stroller he said thats not good enough, needless to say i left that office in tears. where do i go from here? i intentionally did not mention p.t.s. i asked him if the tubal caused this he said everybody thinks that. but didnt say yes or no to my question.
he gave me b.c. pills i told him i havent taken them for 13 years because they gave me headaches and made me nausiated i tried 4 different kinds over a 5 year period. i am only 36 years old and feel about 50. i would really like to know if anyone who has had a reversal has it helped with the symptoms. my tubes were cut and tied to the conective tissue, has any one ever heard of that type of procedure? if so how reversable is that??
i will not take the b.c. pills or the prozak.
sorry this letter is so long.
thank you
tina

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
