trust only yourself

Hi Cheryl ! All your medical records are legally yours, absolutely, but as for the records of a SMB investigation I am uncertain. I agree with you that they should be yours but, unfortunately, you'll probably need a lawyer.
Yes, everything you said made sense. However, contrary to popular belief, the employees of the SMB are not really on your side. SMB's have been known to do some underhanded things. Any information they supply you with is not necessarily correct or for your benefit. The fact that they say there is no appeal or that the files are confidential means nothing. Trust your lawyer if you know him before the fact but otherwise one has to keep an eye on the lawyer , just as on the doctor. My lawyer would send an official letter for 90 bucks and if he didn't get positive results he would consider it a personal affront and then take the appropriate steps. Usually it's difficult to get a lawyer to accept a med/mal case if they are not sure they can win the litigation. Their reasoning is why take a case that will take years to finish with the possibility of not getting paid( they get about 1/3 of settlement). With about 20 grand you could finance the case yourself. What is really helpful is having a friend hidden behind enemy lines, such as a secretary in the SMB office. If you are trying to compile medical documentation to support your case it is a very intelligent move. I always document and research all medical endeavors. However the SMB only recognizes medical information from a liscensed physician. This always seemed to be condescending, diminishing, demeaning, insulting to my intelligence and completely unacceptable to me. I feel that customers of doctors can perfectly well understand the intricacy of medicine. Most of the time better than the doctor. Another visit to your naturopath sounds like a good idea. good luck, walker

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
