What docotrs will agree to do and what insurance comapanies will agree to pay

by Sandy

For the record, take note that I do not dispute all the test listed are necessary, just that I don't know many wonmen who are successful at persuading thier doctors to run all those test. Additionally, I think we need to teach people how to get what they want, but how to get it done while working within the system. Its great to spue rhetoric and idealism, but practicallity has to come into play sometime. Most women here need practical methods of obtaining the information they need on their hormone levels so that they may begin to make informed choices about their own treatment. If these women really want to start the ball rolling, and they can' find a doctor to run all the test mentioned,(and this seems to be a really big problem) or they have limited means to pay, then I think FSH, Estradiol, progesterone, ferritin level and thyroid panel are good place to start. If these come back normal amd the woman continues to have symptpms, she should insit on further testing, even of she must pay for it herself. I am not trying to disuade anyone form following the published protocol for hormone testing, just trying to give some practical starting point. Sincerely, no offense intended.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
