Two tests that show NOTHING.

by sjb

Both of these levels will NOT tell you (or him) what the status of your ovaries are. These levels will NOT tell you if you have ovarian function, if you are ovulating, if you were castrated, etc...

TSH, or thyriod is explained with in this site, and even shows labs (mine) how one's TSH level can be "normal" and still be surgical castrated. (compared to the FSH and LH levels)

Prolactin is a hormone from the pituitary gland that regulates the production of breast milk following childbirth. It also may suppress ovulation. (Hence women not getting pregnant while breast feeding)

The pituitary may produce too much prolactin as a result of use of certain drugs such as tranquilizers or oral contraceptives or — rarely — as a result of a pituitary tumor called a prolactinoma.

Ovarian function does not affect prolactin. Breast feeding after pregnancy and tumors on the gland affect prolactin.

Prolactin is NOT affected by surgical castration.

He ran two tests on you that does NOT show ovarian function.

Did he infer that these tests would show you the status of your ovaries? or if you were menopausal? What did he say when he said that he'd order some tests?

Now have him run the rest of the tests. If he says no, then report him to your state regultory board.

If he refuses, and it's found out down the road that you do have a hormonal imbalance then bring suit against him for refusing to diagonse.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
