Did I make a mistake???

by Amanda

I suppose I should have looked up tubal ligation on the net earlier, but I thought I was making the right decision after two years of debate. Now, it has not been a week and I seem to regret it every day. Is it true that the pain of a tubal gets worse after a week? I went from Advil to Tylenol #3's. This seems backwards to me. I went into the doctor today to get rid of my stitches, and asked him why I had a harder time with pain today than I did after the surgery, and he said I should have been told by the surgeon that I would experience the most pain ten days after the surgery? He didn't explain why. Any explainations? I was very angry because I had to cancel another week of work at the last minute, and I could have prepared my jobs well before the surgery. Both jobs require heavy lifting, and since I have a hard time lifting my kids, I figured the jobs could wait. So, from women who have experienced this, is my pain going to last forever?

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
