Response to CMR

by Pam

Thanks, Cheryl, for posting your message to me.
I've been on the Internet probably a total of 2 hours in the last three months---until today, when I stumbled onto this website. What a revelation!! I don't know how many times in the last few years I've used the obtuse phrase "something's not right in there", and though to this point I have had no conclusive tests of any kind, I can say with certainty that I am indeed suffering from PTS to some degree. I am both mad (for obvious reasons) but also excited that finally I have found a name for what I had not yet been able to clearly define. I now have resources and can take a proactive approach to my own healing. I am somewhat embarrassed that it has taken me so long to take these positive steps, but now is better than never. They do say that knowing is half the battle, and while this half of my battle has taken over a decade, I have no intentions of letting the second half take nearly as long. Isn't it amazing how cognizant we can be of our own bodies? I have been insistent for a long time that all my maladies were somehow tied to my TL, but no one seemed willing to believe me. And now -- wow -- I find out that PTS is real and that there are thousands of fighting mad women just like me; together we can have a voice and we must be heard. I haven't stood on many soapboxes in my lifetime, but this is one I truly believe needs to be addressed.

Again, I just wanted to thank you for responding to my posting and for the encouragement you offered me. First thing Monday I intend to begin contacting the appropriate doctors to begin gathering the necessary info. Best wishes to you on your road to HEALING; please keep me posted, as I will try to do the same for you.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
