What is the Coalition for Post Tubal Ligation Women?

Our goals are to 1. educate, 2, organized, 3, make some changes.

by following everyones experiences, we learn and understand that women are 1. not being informed, and 2, they are not grasping the full extent of the issues.

We have herd so much about "reversals" that when women hear about the issues (that information was with held, that there are side effects, etc...) and possibly they are experiencing these side effects they start to think...a reversal will reverse what has happened to me.

That is not ture.

It's important to follow everyone as they return to their doctors and as they follow their path of discovery. Some will take the path of having a reversal (and some will have successful ones, other won't...) We will support each as each goes through their discovery...

But the main focus of the Coaltion is to make some changes in how women are informed. Women need to be informed of the side effects before hand, not afterwards.

The doctors who perform these sugeries KNOW that they are not informing their patients. This is criminal. We, women how have had a TL and were not informed of ALL the possible risks are the victims....

The Coalition's aim is to expose this abuse and to make some changes.

What's happening here at this site is history in the making. Before the interent we would have never met, never banned together such as this.... We WILL make changes so what has happened to us, "masses of women" will stop. This can only be called a hormonal holicast.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
