PTS

I am not new to this list, but I am very discouraged. In November of 1993 I had my 3rd child and i also had a tubal. at the time I was 24 years old. I started having all kinds of problems about 2 years later, but all my regular paps were always normal. About a year ago I was sent by my primary physician, who did a pap and hormone testing on me, which all came back normal, to a gyno. At that visit he suggested i start taking the pill and if it did not work to regulate my periods and to help control other symptoms i was having, such as, no sex drive, anxiety attacks and depression which i take paxil for on a daily basis acne(which i have never in my life had before, and i am now 30), bad lower back pain about 1 - 2 weeks before my period, horrble mood swings, major Pms, and unusual hair growth just to name a few, then i should come back to his office and discuss tubal ligation syndrome with him. Well the pill did not work (surprise), and i went back to his office today. Let me first just say that i did not know a thing about PTS until he told me about it. I then tried to research it at the library, and i could not find a single thing anywhere until i found this site. I was so excited to go to see him today and tell him all i had learned this year from this site. Well,,,,,,, I have never been so disappointed in my life. The Dr. did a complete 360 degree turn. He acted like i was the one who mentioned PTS at the first visit and pretty much brushed off any other discussion about PTS. He did give me a pelvic and told me that my uterus felt lumpy and that i might have fibroids, and he did schedule me for an ultrasound on 12-14-99. As for my symptoms, he said they could be from a number of things, and offered me no kind of help whatsoever. i do not know where to go from here, he was like a totally different doctor. i have an appt. with my primary care physician on the 10th and i am going to tell her what happened, but i don't know if that will help or not.
I mean he is the one who said i might have PTS and in a years time he acted like i was crazy!!!!!

If you have any suggestion i would freatly appreciate it.

Thanks, Racquel

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
