Response to Chelly

Sounds as though you may be experiencing both a hormonal distubance as well as withdrawl side effects form your medicine. Regardless of money, you should insist on having your hormones check, especoally since you have had a hysterectomy.(This should have been done following the hysterectomy and should have been included in the cost.) Mood swings and depression are a BIG symptom of declining estrogen levels(as are hot flashes and night sweats). You do not mention whether your ovaries were removed, but it doesn't really matter as many women lose ovarian function once the uterus is removed anyway.(Docotrs do not tell women this). You may need hormone replacement therapy and I can tell you that this treatment alone will improve many of your symptoms if they are realted to low estrogen levels. You should also inform your doc that you have discontinued your mood elevating drugs, as some medication should be gradually discontinued instead of abruptly stopped to avoid withdrawl symptoms. Remember, you are the boss, regardless of what your doc may say, you make the decisions for your body and do not have to take mood altering drugs if you do not want to. Besides, it sounds as though your health problems have not been fully explored nor fully treated. GET A NEW DOCTOR if the present one refuses to access your current hormonal status with bloodwork. Again, I can not reiterate how much your quality of life can improve with the correct hormone therapy.I hope you take immediate steps to resolve this health issue or it could mean even bigger ones in the future. Good luck and good health to you!

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
