c-section or tl/nursing complications?

by

When I was pregnant with my second and final child, I was diagnosed with a very precarious preg. problem (vilamentous cord insertion) which was life threatening to both myself and baby. This necessitated a second c-section, and I was told that future pregnancies would likely only get more complicated. My husband and I knew that we wanted only two kids, so our OB suggested a tubal. He said it would be quite easy as I would already be open from the c-sect. We agreed, and although I still don't regret the decision, I have had puzzling symptoms of ptls, which so far are not extreme, but inconvenient. When I told my Dr. of these problems, she said that they were probably related to my continuing frequent nursing. It's hard to separate the ptls symptoms from c-section recovery, or for that matter from the normal leukhorria/blood excretions. The birth/section was Oct.98, and I've only recently begun to wean our daughter, and so I was hoping my periods would return to normal afterward. My other symptoms include difficulty concentrating (I've had two fender-benders in one month after 18 years of accident free driving), headaches, and chronic sinus/allergy symptoms which are new to me.Also, I've had the sensation of preg.-like "round ligament" pains, strange sensations of ureter/urethra obstructions, and menstrual cramps w/o the bleeding. Another concern is that I am at increased rist for cervical cancer, having had and been treated for that in my early twenties,10+ years ago. Has anyone else nursed after birth/tl and wondered where one symptom derives from which situation? Should I expect my now unpredictable and painful periods to get better post-nursing? or Worse with the Ptls?

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
