I need some advice please

by

I've never really posted on a message board before so I hope that I'm not going to make a fool of myself. Anyway, here goes - I 27 and I had a tubal in August of '98. I had no idea that any of this existed. I was told that this is about the safest surgery you could have and I felt confidant in that. Anyway, in Sept of '98, I fainted. I have never in my life fainted before but suddenly the room was spinning and down I went. I urinated on the floor and it was about 30 seconds before my husband could wake me up. He was trying to help me to bed when I fainted again. It was easier to wake me up and I conviced him that I was okay and just needed to rest. Anyway, I went to a general practioner on Monday(I fainted on Sat)and was given a thyroid test and he sent me to have an eeg done etc, and I was told everything was fine and it was a freak thing. I'm sorry but this is going to be long. Then I started having weird periods. They would come often and be really heavy and then stop after two days and then come back and trickle for a week. In Dec. of 98 I passed a clot that was so big that I wasn't sure I had any blood left and called my doc who did the tubal. He had an ultrasound done and told me I was fine and that sometimes after a tubal, periods can become irregular and heavier and I could go on the pill and everything would straighten out. Well, I decided that I would just put up with it because I didn't want to pay $20/month for the pill after I had a tubal. Then in June of '99 I fainted again. This time my husband insisted I go to the er. They couldn't find anything wrong and told me to see another doc. So I went, she put me on a heart moniter and ignored my other symptoms such as insomnia(she told me to go to bed earlier), extrememly low blood pressure(she told me to eat more salt), lack of sex drive, completely crashing from fatigue in the middle of the afternoon, irregular periods, migraines and feeling cold all the time. My heart moniter came back fine and I kept insisting that there was something wrong so she did a blood glucose test and it showed that I had low blood sugar so she told me to eat more protein and stop drinking soda. I tried that and it didn't really help but because she made me feel that I was making this all up, I haven't done anything about it. Now, my period is 2 days late and I took a home preg test that came out neg. I was searching for info on ectopic preg when I came across this site and was totally blown away. I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I'm pretty scared. I don't have a doctor that I can trust and I don't have the money for the testing over the site. I don't know what to do.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
