I am glad you have found this site. Consider this the beginning of your journey to heal yourself. The first rule of thumb is that everyone is responsible for thier own health. Every choice we make can and will have a health consequence, be it good or bad, as we have all learned through our misfortunate Tubal Ligation adventures. I call this an adventure, because it would be too depressing to refer to it as anything negative. I really do believe that one day the TL procedure as we know it will no longer be performed, and the medical community will acknowledge the damage this type of surgery has cause. In the meanwhile, it is up to us to find our own way, pioneers if you will, on the journey back to health. This journey has to begin with a physical exam by a doctor you trust, to include a complete blood hormone profile. This site has a link which lists all the important hormone tests. Alot can be learned form these test, not just your current hormone status, but also what type of hormone imablance you may be suffering . This of course is needed to access appropriate treatment. You mention headaches as a concern. Unfortunately, headaches can be hormonal in nature, but can also have other causes, some serious some not. Alot of women get headache when their estrogen level is fulctuating. The only way to check for this is by blood draw for estrogen level. HRT is not the only option for women with PTS. However, given no contradicting medical history, it is standard treament for young women experiencing early menopause, regardless of the reason. Menopause is not a natural state in the young childbearing age woman. If, due to Tl, she starts to have hormone deficiency related symptoms, she should consider HRT as a means to stave off menopausal related diseases, such as osteoporosis and heart disease. I am working on complying a list of suggestions form women with Tl related problems and will let you know when it is done. As for information of Paxil, the PDR is an excellent source of information as is Healthscout and other medical sites. Good luck and good health to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
