I could have written your story...

by

Pam,
We have a lot in common! I have almost the identical story as you. I had my tubal ligation when I was only 25 years old. Looking back, that seems so young! (I am 30 now)
I had NO problems prior to my tubal. NONE. I had two pregnancies that were very difficult and Although I was never "advised" to have a tubal, I was also never told about the possible outcomes if I did go through with it.
So, here I sit, years later with all the same problems that you face. I tried for a year to have my insurance company pay for it, but to no avail. It was hopeless. Now, I am borrowing the money from my parents to have it done next Spring (2001)
There are some people who say that the surgery helped them, and others who say that it could never physically help. I have a very dear friend who had it performed last year (1999) and felt better two days later and has gone on to have a successful pregnancy! She has NO problems anymore. NONE. And she was suffering just like you and I!!!! Her son is so precious and although the main reason she had the reversal was to solve her physical problems, he was such a great bonus!
The main reason for my having the surgery is for emotional and mental relief of my feelings of incompleteness and inadequecy. (SP?)
I just feel so empty and I want to feel like a woman again.
If you want to write to me personally at home, please feel free to do so at

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
