establishing criteria for diagnosis

by

Does anyone know the absolute criteria in order to be diagnosed with PTLS? I realize that there are specific symptoms, but usually in diagnosing other syndromes, people have to have a certain percentage of symptoms in order to be diagnosed, or certain test results. Are there any specifics for PTLS?
I have been compiling information on normal menopause hormonal changes, like how FSH rises first, there can sometimes be an elevated estrogen for the first year of perimenopause, etc. I have also heard about some women having low testosterone, but HOW low? The normal levels of testosterone in both pre and post menopausal women are quite similar. I assume that a natural menopause has a more gradual change in all the affected hormones, and PTLS more severe and faster changes. We all need to start keeping track of these things in order to prove that this is real. There has to be some way to differentiate a normal menopause from a surgical one or we will be screwed forever. There really are doctors that do not believe in this, but anyone can look in an anatomy book and see how this could easily happen!
Does anyone have any data on how "normal" it is to have a baby and go directly into menopause and be unable to nurse that baby? That doesn't sound too normal to me, as it wouldn't help humans on an evolutionary scale (to have offspring you could not feed!)

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
