I can't believe it

by Lee

I'm so stunned. I can hardly stop crying. Now I know I'm not crazy. For five years I've tried to tell doctors that the pain IS NOT right. I had my TL five years ago - I was married to an alcoholic and had two children, I was terrified of getting pregnant. I was 33 at the time. They assured me that my painful periods would get better. What a shock. After the TL the pain would last five days each month, my husband had to take me to hospital to get shots. I would vomit, cry, take any pain medication I could get my hands on but nothing made it go away, I put on heaps of weight. I felt like I was going crazy. Five years on, I'm in a new relationship and I manage the pain with migraine medication. I've had a laproscopy - they found no cause for the pain. At least I have an explanation. Better than thinking I was completely mad. Still each month I am incapacitated for a number of days. I'm terrified of not having medication with me all the time in case I don't get on top of the pain. I've been approved for a reversal - hope things might improve. I can hardly contemplate another 15 or 20 years of this......Thank you for being there

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
