I am so happy to stumble on to this site.....

I am almost 29, I have 3 children... I was high risk with all 3 and had 2 prior miscarrages. My last pregnancy I hemmoraghed, and was told I shouldn't have anymore babies. So in 1994 about 4 months after I had my daughter I had a tubal. The only risks I was informed of was the anesthesia. I was told that there was a very small risk of pregnancy, but not likely. Let me tell ya I have had nothing but trouble for the past 7 years. The only major symptom I can remember in the beginning was heavy bleeding and severe pain. The flow of blood was like a small stream of pee. Not having insurance I was in and out of the emergency room to be told it was nothing. I suffered for a few years. We still didn't have insurance but my husband made decent money. I started going to the doctor and I paid for an ultrasound and was told I had bleeding cysts on my ovaries. He said that I had a tubal infection. He suggested laparoscopic surgery. I couldn't pay to have the laparoscopic surgery to see what was going on so I suffered for a few more years. Then my husband landed an excellent job with excellent benefits. So off to the gynecologist I was. Well by now I have pretty much every symptom listed on the site for post tubal syndrome. However I didn't find this site before I went to the gyn, she put me on the pill said I had elevated testosterone. It helped, well maybe my mind wanted to believe it helped but here I sit 4 months after first starting the pill and my swelling bouts are back (looking 5 months preg), the heart palpatations, headaches, dizziness, loss of memory, inability to speak( it is like I get confused and get tounge tied or the words come out too fast and get tangled)sore breasts, heavy bleeding, clots, purple almost black in the vaginal area, dry itching burning vaginal area, can't stay asleep, pain in legs, back, and stabbing in right lower quadrent of stomach, the list goes on. I am so tired of feeling this way and not being able to function but a week and a half out of each month, I am heading back to my gyn and demanding exploratory surgery.

Take the Tubal Ligation I.Q. Test Are you outraged? Feel as though you and other women were not (are not) being informed? Think that a class action lawsuit should be filed on behalf of post tubal women because information was and still is being withheld by the ACOG! The CPTwomen invites all reading this forum to join the CPTwomen and communicate with us at the members' forum. All posting here and conversation here has been moved to the members' forum.

CPTwomen members have testified in front of the IL and CA Court, the IL Gov. Task Force, the Sunset Review Committee, (Senator Liz Figueroa), NOW, and more. What occurred has been made a matter of public record. The CPTwomen are making public the issues which millions of other women have faced in silence. Issues such as women are not informed at the time of their tubal ligation that there is a risk of hormonal imbalance occurring. For the CPTwomen to continue its mission to move this issue to the forefront of government, we must ask for a small contribution/subscription fee from all those who wish to communicate with us and participate at the Coalition's Bulletin Board
