Response to We Want a New Coach

You're a little new at this, eh? Or, are you just still sore that we fired Fulmer? What do you really have against Coach LK? ...because your reasoning doesn't justify a firing.

So, let's throw the coach under the bus for showing confidence in his players to get the job done. This was the perfect opportunity for Lincoln, who is very capable of hitting the 45 yarder, to redeem himself... in spades. This is the same coach whose gameplan gave our Vols the very opportunity to beat the No. 1 team in the country, and you would fire him? The more questionable coaching call was Nick Saban with 2nd and 2 at the Tennessee 4 yard line deciding to throw it 2 consecutive times for the endzone instead of using the ultimate weapon, Mark Ingram, to push it forward for at least the 1st down with an opportunity for 4 more plays at Tennessee's 2 yard line to take it in for the touchdown. Instead, he had to settle for the FG. That was bonehead coaching. You think Bama should fire him, too? Ain't happening.

Chill out.

It was a great game. Yeah, we had opportunities to win. And that says something positive about the coaching. Did you really believe before this game began that we had more than a snowball's chance to win this game? Heck, I'm an optimist about my Vols, and I didn't start believing until halftime. If it were not for Coach Lane Kiffin and the recruits and coaches he has brought in here (including his dad), we would have been blown out today.

Go Vols!!!
