a lot of northern hemisphere dwellers have so much trouble coping with the concept that we have our seasons reversed, but we don't have any problems with figuring out what the northern hemisphere is doing. I suppose it's because most of our popular culture is from the UK or USA, so the whole June=hot, December=cold thing is ingrained into us from birth, even though we experience the complete opposite.
I've heard some real clangers from northern hemisphere types talking about the southern hemisphere - like "so does summer come before or after spring for you?"; "what month do you have Christmas in?"; and best of all "wow, if it's this warm at Christmas, it must get really hot in July!"
Your statement was nowhere near that league of confusion, Magrat, but I will probably be making Christmas cookies soon too!

(except I'll call them biscuits, of course!)
