Okay, Duncan's not perfect, and there are a couple of places on the carpet where he's widdled. I was going after them with carpet cleaner today. After spraying, waiting, and rubbing with a damp towel, I left the room to rinse out the towel. I came back, and Duncan was rolling around over the spot.
Then I got out the vacuum and some carpet deodorizer with baking soda that I guess Shay got at the store recently. I sprinkled all over the carpet and was waiting the recommended fifteen minutes before vacuuming, when Duncan suddenly went beserk, rolling around on the carpet frantically. I guess my efforts at removing his smell got him all worked up.
Then he started licking the carpet. I know baking soda makes my biscuits rise. I hope the dog doesn't get any bigger!
(The stuff is supposedly safe to use around pets, but it doesn't say it won't turn them into Dogzilla!)
I vacuumed the living room while Duncan stayed far away from the loud, scary sucking machine. I was then trying to vacuum the dining room when I ran out of cord on the vacuum cleaner. So I turned it off, unplugged it, re-plugged it in the nearby guest bathroom, and tried to turn it on again. But when I switched the vacuum on, nothing happened.
I suspected a circuit breaker had been tripped so I went out to the garage, and sure thing. So I simply flipped the switch and heard the vacuum immediately turn on in the dining room. I hadn't turned the switch on the vacuum cleaner off before I went out to the garage, so as soon as power was restored, the vacuum came back on.
My first thought out in the garage was, I wonder if once I left the room and the vacuum wasn't on, Duncan got brave enough to go over and check it out, only to have it magically turn itself on once he approached. Sure enough, as I turned the corner into the dining room I saw him running away with his tail between his legs, looking at the groaning vacuum cleaner in horror.
