So we had the first storm of the season.

We got to close the office at 3:30 and I got home at 4.

We had snow in the morning, which wasn't bad, but now it's freezing rain, ice pellets and wind. Not nice to be outside.

Today it's snowing.

December 3 2006, 8:39 AM

What they call "flurries". A little bit of snow every once in a while. It's nice.

Yesterday was really nice, if a bit windy. I like nice winter weather.

Yeah, I like...

December 5 2006, 5:54 PM

...nice winter weather too. But we had sunshine today again.

How is your Final Fantasy game going? I am playing a RPG or something like that myself. The name of it is Spellforce 2.

Cool, what is it about?

December 5 2006, 9:53 PM

I've spent over 40 hours playing it already. It's really interesting. I do take my time to level up and such.

There are a lot of side quests, too, and some of them are really hard. I'm having fun, but I don't have a lot of time. I need a vacation.

Well...

December 8 2006, 5:16 AM

...first of all here is the link to their homepage http://spellforce.com/sf2/.

The deal about the game is that you run around in different maps and have to solve main quests and minor quests. Some of them aren't very easy even when you play it in the easy mode like I do.

The cool thing is that those maps aren't like real levels. You can still go back and solve some older minor quests but you have to solve the main quests to get to the new maps.

The game came out in the beginning of 2006 and I got it for only 15 Euro. It is a German game I think.

Wow!!!

December 8 2006, 8:54 PM

Very cool.

From what I read it's a mix of RPG and RTS, and those are the two types of games I like. It seems really nice, and I'll keep an eye out for it, but my computer isn't good enough for it at the moment.

In the meantime, I've played about 50 hours of Final Fantasy 12 by now and am really enjoying the story.

Yeah...

December 9 2006, 8:42 AM

...I really think that you need a good computer so that it runs fine. My computer isn't very old but I have turned off the realistic shadows, the grass and the reflecting water so. The story here is nice too. At the moment I am in somekind of a dwarf village and they have a mine their like in LOTR and I saved two giants who help me to beat up the bad guys. The fights are very nice, I love all the sparks and flashes, very nice. Really cool is the landscape.

I have never played a RPG before so it is something new for me. When I bought it I said that I wanted something where people run through a fantasy landscape and use magic.

"something where people run through a fantasy landscape and use magic."

December 10 2006, 9:18 AM

That's most RPGs right there.
At least the ones from the Final Fantasy series. There are more tech oriented RPGs, too.

The first RPG that I played was Final Fantasy VII, and it has a very involving story.

Final Fantasy 8 was nice too, and it had a lot of side-quests, and the card game, which was cool and annoying at the same time.

FF12 has a lot of side-quests and stuff to do. I'm working a bit on doing that right now instead of continuing with the story.

I am...

December 10 2006, 9:50 AM

...also working on my side quests. The biggest problem is to know where to go and sometimes I am not sure what I have to do. There are some side quests which you can only solve in a map you haven't visited yet and that is a bit confusing because you think that you have missed something.

I know.

December 10 2006, 12:02 PM

That's why I rely a lot on game guides for that sort of stuff.

For FF12, I bought the guide. For other games I found them on the internet. They can be very useful.

No snow here either :-)

December 6 2006, 9:24 PM

Sorry my return was so short-lived - I keep meaning to drop in again, but always seem to get distracted by other things. Life has been kind of busy lately... (isn't it always?)

I've been running around like a headless chicken.

And a game addiction doesn't help you get stuff done any faster.

So how have you been?

I've been... tired

January 10 2007, 6:26 PM

I had a really relaxing Christmas break doing nothing, and was actually feeling good about coming back to work, but then I caught a cold off my nephews, and now I'm feeling sick and completely exhausted again.

Good other than that, though

Life is always busy...

December 8 2006, 5:09 AM

...that's true.

Are you not having summer down in NZ right now? I am always confused about that.

The weather here is still like late September. The sun is shining right now and I have to say that I like it.

I saw in the news

December 8 2006, 8:55 PM

That there isn't much snow in the Alps and that skiers are upset.

It's usually a bit less busy after Christmas. Life picks up after Carnival.

No...

December 9 2006, 8:45 AM

...snow is okay for me for different reasons. Of course snow is beautiful but only if it is cold enough when it is warm it changes very fast in brown mud of sorts. And when there is no snow they can't show ski races on TV and I can watch the used TV shows. And I still use the bike and when it is dry it is more fun to use it.

I have heard it is the hottest winter here in known history.

That's true.

December 10 2006, 9:13 AM

I haven't been using my bike since it got colder, mostly because of the weather. But I should try and get it over with and then go to work by bike again when it's not snowing.

When it is dark and there is a lot of snow...

December 10 2006, 9:52 AM

...take your bike and try to ride it in deep snow in a park where no one is. That's a big fun and I do it every year when we have snow.

LOL!!!

I don't think my husband would like it if I did that. Especially since he's not here yet.

We're supposed to be having summer

January 10 2007, 6:28 PM

But it's been a very cold and wet summer so far. Some days over Christmas the temperature here was lower than in parts of Europe!

Hi JenCat!!

January 10 2007, 9:10 PM

I know what you mean.

It's like they added your summer to my winter, and divided them in two. And we get neither.

But I think it's going to cool down a bit soon here.
