You overestimate Vancouver. They have had good luck with injuries. But outside of Luongo and the Sedins, there's not much there. They are first round fodder.
I think you overestimate Atlanta. They got crushed by Edmonton twice this season. I am not impressed with them at all. The bubble will burst on Tkachuk. Their terrible defense and mediocre goaltending will let them down. Hossa can only do so much.
You underestimate the Flames. They have had problems taking games seriously. But now that they had a little scare, Kiprusoff has cranked it up. This team has nothing wrong on paper except for maybe coaching.
Post-Smyth/Bergeron, you have the Oilers slotted correctly with the likes of Columbus and St.Louis (except they have better coaching). Oilers are getting better now that the likes of Ladislav Smid and Tom Gilbert are coming back. At least we're not getting THROTTLED anymore.
Let's see. 2001= win nine in a row in March, take Dallas to the limit. 2007= fold up tent and give up. Yeah I'd say 2001 was better. On paper, they seem close though.
