...and the last riot we had in the city was in '84, after the Tigers won the Series. There has been nothing approaching a riot since, but that doesn't stop idiots like Rainn Wilson tweeting "Vancouver is now the Detroit of Canada." Yeah, exactly the same, Rainn. Vancouver is the prettiest city in the world according to many, and Detroit is, well...I like to call it "The Paris Of Wayne County, After The War."
I have to wonder how the Canucks are going to be, next season. Is Luongo still The Man, or do they give another goalie a shot at unseating him as #1? His meltdowns on the road and shaky performance in game 7 of the Finals were not confidence-inspiring. It's an excellent hockey team, that should add another physical-type forward and take another good kick at the can next year, and hope for better luck on the injury-front.
I think Luongo is a question-mark, though. Compare his performance in the finals to that of his counterpart, Thomas, and it's a seriously lopsided picture. He got yanked out of too many playoff-games this spring. You need a consistent goalie, to go all the way.
