We've had a few injuries this year, like Cleary's bad knee and Howard's broken-thumb, along with a few other minor issues with key players. Dats's surgery was said to be elective, that he could have played through it, but it was also felt he could be stronger in the playoffs if he got those "floaters" out of his knee now.
We lost Eaves earlier to a smashed-jaw that also involved a serious concussion, and there's still no timetable for his return. Miller has really stepped up in his absence, but Eaves is a quality role-player, we could really use come playoff time.
I like our trade for Quincey, as he provides great depth this year, and a possible replacement for Stuart who's rumored to be heading back West after the season. Our defense looks great, our goaltending is excellent, and the forwards are producing all through the lines. This team is ready to make a strong run for another Cup, if they can avoid the avalanche of injuries for a change.
